 Benit has restocked the RM13976576 hydraulic motor, the scraper and conveyor drive motor used on ABG7820 and ABG6820 asphalt pavers. Units are available from one piece upward and can be dispatched within 5 to 7 days after payment, which gives paving contractors a practical way to avoid a long machine standstill in the middle of a project.

The scraper and conveyor motors on a paver work in the dirtiest part of the machine. They run at low speed but carry continuous torque, while fine aggregate dust, bitumen mist and heat build up around the shaft seal and housing. The first symptoms are usually easy to notice on site:

• The scraper chain stalls or moves in jerks when the hopper is full.
• Material feed becomes uneven at low engine speed, leaving surge marks on the mat.
• Hydraulic oil starts to weep around the shaft seal or the port fittings.
• The machine loses pushing force against the material pile although pump pressure reads normal.

When these signs appear, replacing the motor early is far cheaper than waiting for a full stop on a live paving shift, because a stalled feed system means cold joints, extra joints and rework on the surface.

• Matched mounting and shaft: the flange bolt pattern, splined shaft and port positions follow the original RM13976576 layout, so the unit bolts straight onto the existing bracket without an adapter plate.
• Steady torque at low speed: internal clearances are set so the motor keeps the scraper chain speed constant while travel speed changes.
• Sealing for dusty sites: a double lip shaft seal and hardened housing surfaces resist the abrasive fines that shorten service life.
• Tested before packing: every unit completes a flow and leak test, and a test report can be supplied with the shipment.
• Fleet-friendly supply: around 100 pieces per month are available, which suits contractors who keep spare units in the workshop.

Before installation, flush the drive circuit and replace the return filter, because metal particles from a worn motor will travel straight into the new unit. Check that the coupling spline is not worn and that the drain line is not restricted. After fitting, run the feed system at low speed for a few minutes without load, then check for leakage at the port fittings and the shaft seal before starting paving.
